2015 Dodge Durango, the well built, shape chiseled SUV from Dodge is indicated to carry the same bold looking third generation body with some nifty interior updates. 2015 Dodge Durango is yet to be announced as of this writing. The 2015 Dodge Durango shares it’s current assembly with the Jeep Grand Cherokee along with chassis parts, engines and transmission. 2015 Dodge Durango redesign is something we are all looking forward to. (pictured here is the 2014 latest release)
2015 Dodge Durango chassis, body & exterior redesign:
The 2015 Dodge Durango is expected to be planted on the 2010, third generation chassis. The well built and longer than Grand Cherokee wheelbase would continue to feature three rows of seats to maintain the full sized SUV status. Exteriors are expected to be redesigned including new bumpers, front grill changes, new fog lamps, arches and other accents around the body but expect minor changed to the already state of the art body shell.
Adding new side steps in the list of official accessories is something we would ask for in the new 2015 Dodge Durango. This of-course along with new alloy wheel designs and LED running lights should make it look even better. The well proportioned look of this generation stands out as a trademark of Dodge designed cars. The body looks fabulously integrated and only a pro version with winch bumper and AT wheels can add something extra for the pure off road fans. But that can be done by any off road pro with conviction at a good garage. Despite being around for 4 years, this body does not looks like it needs a change yet.
2015 Dodge Durango interior and comforts
2015 Dodge Durango is a comfortable vehicle, in-car entertainment is expected to be centered around a 7-9 inches TFT display with next generation functions including Bluetooth, vehicle information & data system, navigation and all. Depending on the variant & options, there will be also a rear headrest mounted screen for rear seat entertainment. An alpine premium unit consisting of nine speakers and a sub-woofer currently installed in the 2014 version is expected in the new 2015 Dodge Durango too.
The comfortable seats in the vehicle can seat 6 adults without the slightest discomfort, while the max capacity is to seat 8 people. Leather appointed interiors come in different colors and finish depending upon choice of trim. With stowage and storage space everywhere, there is enough place for your bottles, jars, mugs, phones, tablets, chargers and maps. The vehicle is well planted on the road and a great tourer too.
2015 Dodge Durango Engine/Transmission
When it comes to engine and transmission options, the 2015 Dodge Durango will not disappoint, expected engine options include the current 3.6L V6 Pentastar, or the 5.7 V8 HEMI. The pentastar pushes out 290hp(220KW) @ 6400 rpm, with 350 Nm (260lb-ft) torque @ 4800 rpm. The HEMI pushes out 360 hp (270 kW) @ 5150 rpm along with 530 Nm (390 lb-ft) torque @4250 rmp. There are indications that current engines will be tuned in a more efficient way. Sliding sales of heavy SUVs due to rising gas prices may prompt Dodge to include a more efficient engine.
The transmission options can be either of the 5 or 6 speed automatics or the 8 speed automatic introduced in 2014 model.
2015 Dodge Durango release date & Price
At this time it’s not wise to say when the 2015 model will be available, as no date has been disclosed yet. Launch can happen either in the 3rd quarter or the start of 4th this year just before the Holiday season. In any case, the vehicle will carry the same body with trim and minor other changes we have come to expect. If you are waiting for the new model, there is not much time, but if you have to have a vehicle now, it’s not a bad choice in any sense.
