2015 Ford Escape is one of the best selling cars for compact crossover buyers. The 2015 Ford Escape is expected to be a design facelift. In other markets it sells with the name Ford Kuga, and shares the same platform albeit with different trim options than the US Models.
2015 Ford Escape expectations:
The 2015 Ford Escape is expected to improve on what it is, a compact, fuel efficient, versatile vehicle which is fun to drive around the city or cruise on the Hwy. The new vehicle will be a minor facelift as such and you can expect most changes to the internal trim and the myford touch in-dash infotainment system. On the outside, you can expect redesigned bumpers, cladding, exhaust shape, headlamp and tail lamp updates. We are not sure but hope that LED Headlamps would become a standard on this model. The engine and other options remain the same with exception of tuning updates to the already great eco-boost engine.
2015 Ford Escape Engine & Transmission options:
The Options remain pretty much around the 1.6L EcoBoost I-4 engine that delivers 178 horsepower with 184 lb.-ft. of torque and the 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 engine with 240 horsepower & 270 lb.-ft. of torque. There is also the duratec 2.4 engine for the standard Escape S.
The eco-boot engines deliver fuel efficiency of 23 city/32 hwy for the smaller, and 22 city/30 hwy MPG on 93 octane, while the duratec 2.4 is rated for 22 city/31 hwy while delivering 168HP and 170 torque. The 2015 Ford Eco-Boost is an L-4 straight engine using hybrid technology and highly recommended by us. There are both the AWD and FWD versions available on the transmission part, running on the 6 speed select automatic, which is a decently refined unit.
Exterior/Interior of the 2015 Ford Escape
2015 Ford Escape is expected to get spruced up bumpers, fog lamps and an updated front grill with updated tail lamps. Side cladding/Skirts are expected to be matte black as they are. The interior is expected to get new tones and fabric options.
Competition to the 2015 Ford Escape:
The model faces competition from CR-V and RAV-4, which have better rear seat headroom and space then the Ford, but loose on the front headroom and driver friendly steering. If you ask me, I would gladly forgo the X1 in favor of this car. The unmatched efficiency and low carbon footprint of this car is a hit with Eco-sensitive customers. It still is a personal choice what you would go with because cars are something that drivers take to their heart. So if you like a model to your heart, it is wise to buy that, because that is what will keep you with your car for years. The only advice we have for you is to take a test drive of all the contestants in your list before taking a plunge.
The 2015 Ford Escape will be a minor redesign and you can expect a major work on the vehicle in the 2016 model when it’s due for a new fresh design. So if you are looking to buy a great driver’s car in a crossover, you cannot go wrong with this model now or when the updated escape is launched soon. If you ask me, I would forgo a CR-V any day for this, and that is what customer’s have chosen in the past. This model has left Honda behind here, and in other markets, where Ford is selling Micro SUV’s like Eco-sport in India. The choice is greener, with good efficiency and lower emissions that beats any standard by a huge margin (Taking California’s SULEV and PZEV standards as reference). With a price range of 25K-30K US, it’s got what it takes to keep customers writing checks to ford. Besides, it’s all American!
