2015 Honda Pilot is one car, every Honda SUV fan is watching for. The 2015 Honda Pilot redesign is long due and indications are that it’s going to be launched with much fanfare and as a better product that what is available now.
2015 Honda Pilot: what to expect:
The 2015 Honda Pilot concept pictures indicate that the cube inspired design is here to stay, with facelift all around the body, and a bit rounded out corners this time. The LED Headlamps are not too rebellious and are a compliment to the overall sober look of this SUV. The touch up job is not expected to be major, and the body still has no matted body cladding on the lower part. People looking to get a bit dirty with this car will thus still be disappointed. Although you can expect the same fuel efficient, smart Honda design that is the 2015 Honda Pilot. It’s the same second generation chassis that has been on duty since 2009, and the overall dimensions remain the same. The large 8 seat model will ride on the 18in high profile wheels for most models (17in for basic). The tri-zone climate control, in-car video for second row, navigator, bluetooth and all other fancy features will remain there with a better central touch console in the dash. The features are model dependent. If we were to mention all the features in here, it will be a real long read. Honda is known for feature rich list for this vehicle. One distinct feature for the models Ex-L and touring is the power tailgate that helps you open the tailgate of the new 2015 Honda pilot with press of a button, now that’s neat. (it’s available now in the 2014 too)
2015 Honda pilot: Engine and transmission
Expect a V6 3.5 pumping out around 310HP @ 5700RPM, and a 265LB-ft torque @ 4800 RPM. The 24-Valve SOHC i-VTEC® engine will be common across the range with tuning improvements. The 6 speed automatic gearbox will employ an oil cooler for 4WD models to enable heat dissipation in fatigue situations, for the FWD model, they are expected to provide a CVT based 6 speed box. The unibody SUV is a breeze to speed down the Hwy and we expect it to continue and improve further. Expecting too many improvements from a redesigned 2015 Honda Pilot will be much though, especially when companies are on a cost cutting spree.
2015 Honda pilot: Interiors
2015 Honda Pilot carries a lot of functionality. Features are the strength on which Honda sells, besides fuel efficiency and winter performance. So the interiors that currently center around and 8in infotainment system should see a definite upgrade. The Functionality and versatility is on a bright side, with extra stowage space on the excessive side you will never run out of places to put your stuff. Now that’s going to make cleaning a task! The trim on the interior is to add latte color and coffee brown accents along with options for grey tone based interior leather.
The new car is a great buy for those holding back on their purchase, and have already got a large SUV in mind. Host of features that run longer than your wife’s shopping list, not just limited to just the bluetooth, reverse parking camera, or the power tailgate, cruise control, larger touch screen, on steering call/audio controls, and what not! So if you ask me, I would say go for it but do ask for a test drive! It’s the same large, efficient, gorgeous, family SUV on this side of US$ 40,000. Besides, your wife would love to drive it, and you could just sit back and relax with the kids on your way to the yellowstone! What do you say?
