2015 Lotus Elise, the sports car that promises good MPG, high 0-60 performance and low maintenance is widely awaited. 2015 Lotus Elise looks sleek and spectacularly modern without much complication in it’s design. The beautiful car is a treat to the eyes, lets take a look at how it’s expected to perform…
2015 Lotus Elise, How does the redesign look?
2015 Lotus Elise has a honeycomb grille up at the front and the air dams share the same, the front is very well designed and despite very wide stance it looks very well integrated. The front is a sleek start with thin headlamps with LEDs. Only LEDs allow smaller placement options as the diodes do not need specialized reflectors which are large and bulky. Placing halogen/HID in the 2015 Lotus Elise could’ve meant adding size to the front and rear lamps. The headlamps look fab and fit the design very nicely, another effect they have is that they make the wheels and airdams appear larger with the whole car getting a much better look than what a bug eyed halogen based solution would’ve made it. Coming to the side, the profile looks sleek with a muscular low line and a convertible styled top that looks really good. The rear wheel arches do not feature any air tunnel dams. Instead a slit is present behind the window pane. The 2015 Lotus Elise looks quite interesting from the back, the convertible styled top leads to a tiny rear window giving way to a body color style panel with a fish fin styled engine exit. The shape returns to a black insert again leading to body color and back to a lower matte black in the end that has fins on 2 sides and the trapezoidal exhaust in the middle. A very nice rear, with the styled up slim sculpted tail lamps and LOTUS written in the middle.
MPG: 2.0-liter DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder, rear mounted engine is a gem when it comes to MPG, expect around 25 mpg on this car although actual figures and tests will tell what it comes down to.
2015 Lotus Elise release
Although for not it is not known when this concept will see production, it is speculated that it will be either at the end of 2014 or start of 2015 when this car will be finally available. The prices are still not known, but anyone could speculate that this car will compete with the corvette and there is where the prices might hover.
